MISS TWIN PEAKS

...goes green.
here's the speech that one of the contestants make:
'...and to illustrate my point I'd like to quote these words from chief seattle, leader of the suquamish tribe: 'your dead are soon forgotten and never return. our dead never forget the beautiful world that gave them being. they still love its verdant valleys, its murmuring rivers, its majestic mountains. when the last red man has vanished from this earth, these forests and shores will still hold their spirits.' for the indians love the earth as a newborn loves its mother's heartbeat. why have we lost touch with this beauty? maybe saving a forest starts with preserving some of the feelings that die inside us every day. those parts of ourselves that we deny. for if we cannot respect that interior land, then neither we can respect the land we walk. so let us, in walking gently upon the earth leave behind a legacy. that we're new warriors, mystic warriors who love the earth and tried to save it.'

yesterday evening on glenarm road

waste is a major contribution to the ecofootprint of London. plastic bags have been banned from shops in several countries, but whilst they are still available to us, we can minimize the environmental impact by re-using them several times, and ultimately as bin liners. I feel for the environment, but I cannot help but look with wonder when I see this form of accidental tree-dressing...

fire and blossoms

I stayed in the house all day, reading about biocapacity and super-insulation, and when I set foot on the balcony I saw blossoms on the tree and a sky of fire

a red evening in november

I met up with laura at the bush hall. I asked her to wear a flower-shaped paper cut in her hair, and then she picked a dress for the show.
my cheeks flushed from lack of sleep, and the spot lights were red. lau played guitar with cloud-like fingers and sang abstract melodies with a bird-like voice.
my friend clare shilland took this photo.
