Ora is a musician born on a canadian island, and living in a wood cabin. i met her on lower clapton road though, as that's where she stays when she is in town. her on-stage persona is like a gothic creature singing about darkness and magic and love, red lipstick and long dresses and velvety-soft guitar playing. but what I really like in her are the contrasts - feisty tomboy and dreamy wild woman at once. musically, this is reflected in her self-sufficient attitude to recording songs (she played all the instruments and did the harmonies in 'the quarry'), and in the emotions she speaks of. her songs kind of mesmerized me, and even before meeting her I had no doubt she would be the kick-ass type of woman I was expecting her to be.

a year ago I went to maccarese to make this film for my ss10 collection, with my friend gianluca moro. so much has happened since then and I feel so different about a lot of things - but not about gianluca and the roma crew. love to g and k and o and L xx
