I'll send you a postcard

I've been having troubles carrying on with this blog. it's not because of lack of things to share but I find it more and more difficult to be open about my life and work in public, although I truly enjoy it when I read the generous posts of some of the bloggers i follow.
shall I switch to tumblr? shall I stop? thoughts please,!
I have some limited edition risograph print postcards, showing a hand painted scarf from ss12, which I will be happy to send you, if you help me figure this one out.

don't stop lulu I think you have a good balance between the work and personal entries, i really enjoy it.. i think one of the challenges with a blog is fighting the self censorship which I think can hinder the process.. i got a blog block for most of last year just through questioning why I was doing it but i am happy to be posting things again and if anyone reads and likes them it's a bonus. Reading the blogs I follow always makes me feel inspired and creatively like I need to get a move on ;-) x

One of the things I enjoy about the blog world is that it gives me the opportunity to connect with designers and makers on a personal level. Hearing about your process and life makes it your work even more beautiful to me, because I find out a bit (or a lot) about where it comes from.

But if you are uncomfortable sharing things about your personal life then I understand that. I don't share much about my personal life on my own blog - I feel a bit funny about it too. Mainly because I have been very sick for a few years and this has dramatically altered the way I live. And I don't think many people find my pain and hardship very fun to read! But when I am better I will share more.

I like (and follow) all different types of blogs, but for designers I prefer something that lends itself to a more personal experience - tumblr doesn't seem so good for this.

I hope that helps you! :)

It's all that country air, turning you into a bumpkin.

cat, you get one regardless. email me your address. ps what do country bumpkins do with their blogs??

belinda,, thanks for your comment. sorry to hear you are sick! and I agree, when sharing (on blogs or in life) becomes difficult it's often a symptom of malaise rooted somewhere else. (email me your address please!)

tary, I'm enjoying your "in between Inca" posts.
lots of love xx

I am a country bumpkin and I would agree that is probably the cause...I am so self conscious about sharing personal stuff but it is kinda the nice and real part about blogs like yours.
